The race for the governorship of Texas is really, really insane. The incumbent is a guy who declared that Texas should prepare itself to secede from the Union. He’s currently polling at 39%. But 24% of Texans think that the incumbent isn’t crazy enough. They want more — the kind of unhinged, frothing at the mouth, bunker-dwelling, I-saw-Jesus-in-a-pancake version of conservatism that wants guns, guns, guns, an abolishment of all property taxes and wants to see more evidence on whether the government plotted 9/11.
Secession is starting to look pretty reasonable.
