Palin’s idiocy is Dangerous

by JimLarkinsGhost on February 9, 2010

I  have never seen a high-profile national political candidate or would-be candidate who is as frighteningly stupid, uniformed, and confused as Sarah Palin.  In the video below, she tries to discuss Obama’s re-election likelihood in terms of his policy toward Iran’s nuclear program.

She first seems to accuse Obama of possibly playing the “the war card” in order to help his image.  But then she seems to be advocating war against Iran.  But it isn’t clear.  She’s confused.  And her thinking here, if we can call it that, seems to have been influenced by her misunderstanding of a column by Pat Buchanan.  It would be scary if Palin were taking her cues from what Pat Buchanan actually says.  But this is worse – she thinks she’s getting foreign policy tips from an anti-Semitic, racist, lunatic isolationist, but she doesn’t even understand what she’s reading.

Buchanan, for his part, says that Palin didn’t misread him, and that she agrees with him.  I think that’s bullshit.  But it doesn’t matter either way – watch this video, and you can see why Palin in the White House is a very, very frightening prospect.  She has no idea what she’s talking about, and her ramblings are so dumb that they require clarification as to whether she thinks we should go to war with Iran or not. And in any event, Daniel Pipes, who actually is suggesting that Obama should bomb Iran (I think he always wants to bomb everything, no?) says Palin agrees with him

All of this suggests that Palin doesn’t know the difference between the ideas of a trigger-happy neocon military intervention enthisast (Pipes) and an old-school isolationist (Buchanan).  And her remarks are so confusing that both the mad bomber Pipes and the isolationist Buchanan think that she is advocating his position.  She has no idea what she is talking about.
