Friday in Brief

-I’m currently quite pissed at the Democratic Party, which is why I welcome these comments from Dennis Kucinich.

The Economist explains Obama’s proposals for financial reform, which it is calling “Glass-Steagall Lite.”  Great.  That’s just what we need – regulation that’s weaker than the regulation we had before we removed that regulation and had a catastrophe due to lack of regulation.

-Preparations for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver are apparently going well, except for one thing – they don’t have snow.  Ooops.

-Here’s another reason to scratch your head over Martha Coakley’s loss to Scott Brown.

-I didn’t see this film coming – a comedy about suicide bombers.

-Michael Tomaskey shares an interesting exchange with a conservative about the language and rhetoric of health care reform.

-Not to be outdone by Limbaugh and Robertson, a Tampa DJ had some utterly revolting things to say about Haiti.

-A recent poll suggests that the same people who hate Jews tend to hate Muslims, too.  That whole “love thy neighbor” thing never really took off, did it?
