-Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick (D) will have the power to appoint an interim senator to replace the late Ted Kennedy until the special election, putting the Dems back at 60 seats.  The Boston Globe says Mike Dukakis should get the nod.

-Bloggingheads at the New York Times debate the Baucus health care reform bill (and highlight its lack of strong appeal).

-The Senate is apparently considering taking away the EPA’s ability to regulate pollution that causes global warming.

-Hu Jintao has asserted that China will take serious steps toward cutting its carbon emissions.  We’ll see.

-After collapsing at a concert last week, Leonard Cohen put on a three-hour show in Barcelona on his 75th birthday.

-President Obama is reportedly turning up the heat a little on Benjamin Netanyahu and Mahmoud Abbas.
