Actor Kiefer Sutherland has been charged with assault following a late-night altercation at Manhattan nightclub on Monday.
Sutherland surrendered to New York City police Thursday afternoon for questioning about a fashion designer’s claim that the actor head-butted him at a Manhattan nightclub. [. . .]
Detectives also may question actress Brooke Shields as a witness because she was at the trendy SoHo nightspot SubMercer, in the basement of the Mercer Hotel, where the altercation took place. Drinks at the ultra-hip club cost around $15.
The notoriously hard-drinking “24″ star got into the alleged altercation as fashion designer Jack McCollough was making his way through the crowd at the SubMercer.
Sutherland was talking to Shields when he apparently thought their personal space was being invaded by McCollough, and allegedly smashed his forehead into the fashion designer’s face.
